Dying to Party

Earlier this week, Tyler Hadley, aged 17, committed one of the more bizarre and brutal crimes of this year. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday July, 17th Hadley sent a group invite on Facebook, notifying his friends of his party later that evening. Somewhere between that time and 8 p.m. Hadley decided to ensure the removal of all impediments, particularly his parents.
Overcome by drugs and a blind rage, Hadley murdered his parents, Blake and Mary Jo Hadley, with a framing hammer. Tyler, a High School dropout, repeatedly beat his parents in the head and torso with the blunt object.

Following the slaying of his parents, Tyler Hadley dragged the bodies into the home’s master bedroom where he attempted to cover-up his act by throwing towels and books on his parent’s corpses.
After the heinous act, Tyler Hadley hosted a party—in his dead parent’s house–of 40 to 60 people. During the party, Hadley admitted to a friend—while under the influence of ecstasy—that he had killed his parents and would show the bodies when the party dissipated.
Local police were notified of a noise complaint at roughly 1:30 AM on Sunday morning. By this time, the majority of the party had broken up but rumors began to swirl regarding Tyler’s horrific act.
A few hours after the initial check-up, local police stopped by the Hadley residence to perform a welfare check. When questioned about the rumors, Tyler told the officers that his parents were out of town. Doubting Tyler’s jittery response, the officers proceeded to perform a check of the home where they found the bodies of Blake and Mary-Jo in the bedroom—the bloodied hammer was lying next to them.
Police are unsure as to Tyler’s motive, but the young man is being tried as an adult (1st degree murder charges) for the savage and heinous killings.
